Rippl built a dementia care platform offering 24/7 access to care navigators and licensed clinicians across multiple US states.

$32M round (2022) and $23M round (2024)

Kris Engskov, who led senior-living operator Aegis Living as president after a long run as a Starbucks executive, co-founded Rippl in Seattle in 2021 with Inca Coman, a venture partner at ARCH Venture Partners, and Robert Nelsen, ARCH's managing director — betting startup methods could fix dementia care for patients and caregivers.

Rippl raised $32 million at launch in 2022 and another $23 million in 2024, building personalised care plans, medication assessments and 24/7 access to care navigators and licensed clinicians, with the aim of keeping seniors living with dementia at home and out of emergency rooms. It served multiple states in coordination with partners including the Alzheimer's Association. In February 2026, Austin-based Harbor Health — founded in 2022 to pair healthcare with insurance plans built around chronic conditions, and fresh off a $130 million raise — acquired Rippl for an undisclosed sum, with investors 'making a new commitment to the combined company'.

Acquired February 2026. Rippl's platform is being integrated into Harbor Health's broader chronic-condition services, with Rippl's services continuing for people receiving care through Harbor Health and affiliated clinics.

Founder-market fit was lived: Engskov had run senior living at scale before betting a startup could keep dementia patients home.

Blue-chip healthcare and tech investors funded care delivery, not just software — ARCH, General Catalyst, GV and Mass General Brigham all participated.

The buyer solves the sector's hardest problem, reimbursement, by pairing the care platform with insurance plans built for chronic conditions.

Dementia is a systems problem: the exit that worked was into a company that owns the insurance plan, aligning who pays with who benefits.

As of February 2026, Rippl's platform was being integrated into Harbor Health's chronic-condition services, with services continuing for Harbor Health and affiliated-clinic patients.
