SuperX bets X content is the distribution engine: $23K MRR in six months

After five products earned $0, Rob Hallam rebuilt his viral X posts into SuperX—an X growth SaaS hitting $23K MRR in six months.

SuperX

The betThat X content, not product polish, is the distribution engine—and a tool that systemizes finding and writing viral posts could grow itself the same way it sells.Scaling

What the business is

SuperX is an X (Twitter) growth SaaS combining viral-post discovery, analytics, AI writing, scheduling, automation and a Chrome extension, priced from $49/month; the web app and extension are live at superx.so.

How it started

Rob Hallam was laid off from his first software job and spent two and a half years building five products that together made $0. He kept posting honestly on X about the attempts and failures; one failure post reached roughly 200,000 views, someone suggested a dev agency, and he landed a $3,000 client from that same momentum.

What happened

Every serious opportunity was coming inbound from content, so Hallam built tools to understand why some posts went viral and others vanished. Those internal tools matched a Chrome extension called SuperX that Tibo Louis-Lucas had acquired and was running at around $1K MRR. Hallam joined as cofounder and rebuilt it into a full web app—extension, analytics, tweet search, auth, syncing, and a Stripe migration. SuperX relaunched publicly in July 2025, hit $1K MRR on day one, and reached about $23K MRR within six months, with roughly 95% of users coming from organic X content.

How it ended up

Still scaling: $23K MRR as of July 2026 (Startup Founder Stories), a live web app and Chrome extension at superx.so, and founder Rob Hallam running it while traveling.

Background

SuperX is an X growth platform—viral-post discovery, analytics, AI writing, scheduling, automation, and a Chrome extension—built by Rob Hallam and Tibo Louis-Lucas. Its origin is the opposite of a product-first story: after being laid off from his first software job, Hallam spent two and a half years building five products that together earned $0.

The turning point was a post, not a product. One honest failure post on X reached roughly 200,000 views, a commenter suggested a dev agency, and Hallam landed a $3,000 client from that same momentum. He realized content was the distribution, built internal tools to systemize how he found and created viral posts, and then matched them with Louis-Lucas's acquired Chrome extension, already running at around $1K MRR.

Hallam rebuilt the extension into a full web app, and SuperX relaunched publicly in July 2025. It hit $1K MRR on day one and about $23K MRR within six months—roughly 650 paying customers at $39/month, growing 20–25% month over month, with ~95% of users coming from organic X content. The founders' own posts and videos created repeated signup waves, making the founder account a live case study.

As of July 2026 the business reports $23K MRR and the product is live at superx.so with a Chrome extension, API/CLI access and a 10M+ post viral library; Hallam continues building in public while running the company remotely.

What has to be true

  • The failed products built the audience: 2.5 years of honest posting gave the eventual launch credibility and reach on day one.
  • Content was validated as the channel before the product existed—the $3K client came from a post, not a landing page.
  • The tool matched the channel it automated, so every customer acquisition doubled as a product demo.
  • Transparency compounded: failure posts, health scares and metric updates gave followers a reason to trust the relaunch.

What can be applied

Distribution can be the product insight: five products failed for lack of attention, so Hallam tooled the channel that already worked—and each acquisition became another demo.

Aftermath

As of 2026-09-02, SuperX is live and scaling: the web app and Chrome extension are running at superx.so, reporting 11,294+ creators, 400K+ posts and replies sent, and 5B+ impressions generated by users; pricing runs from $49/month to $199/month. Startup Founder Stories (2026-07-20) confirms $23K MRR with ~650 paying customers at $39/month and credits X content for ~95% of growth. Hallam still posts publicly about the business while traveling, keeping the build-in-public channel that launched the product.
