After scaling Aiven, the open-source data infrastructure company, to unicorn status, Hannu Valtonen teamed up in 2025 with Nosto co-founder Juha Valvanne to attack a bottleneck they saw forming: AI assistants had removed the cost of writing code, but testing, validation and shipping still scaled linearly with output, so more code meant more build jobs, more tests and more infrastructure strain.
