做的是什么生意

An AI-enabled visa platform processing inbound and outbound visa applications for individuals and travel businesses, embedded in platforms like Klook, Traveloka, Tiket and Nusatrip.

启动资金$1.8M seed (Jan 2026), led by Genesia Ventures with Antler, Spiral Ventures, Iterative, Kopital Ventures and angel investor Kum Hong Siew.

起因

SPUN launched its visa-commerce website in March 2024, starting with inbound and outbound visa permits as the foundation of cross-border mobility. By November 2024 it served 198 nationalities applying for entry to Indonesia and Indonesians traveling to more than 70 countries, with features like a chatbot assistant, commerce and dashboard, document verification cut from about 40 minutes to 3–4 minutes, and a money-back guarantee if a visa was rejected.

经过

In January 2026 SPUN closed a $1.8M seed led by Genesia Ventures, with Antler, Spiral Ventures, Iterative, Kopital Ventures and angel Kum Hong Siew (former Managing Director of Airbnb China) participating. The pitch: more than 20 million passengers cross Indonesia's borders annually and Indonesian passport holders need visas for 106 of 195 countries, yet requirements are unclear and constantly changing. In its first 12 months SPUN processed thousands of applications with a 99% approval rate, all at market prices.

结果

Still live and expanding: with the seed closed in January 2026, SPUN is scaling into key Southeast Asian markets, deepening AI automation and integrations with travel platforms; it supports 300+ visa types across 90+ countries and serves more than 200 travel agents and resellers, embedded in Klook, Traveloka, Tiket and Nusatrip.

背景

SPUN's bet is that visa processing is an infrastructure problem, not a manual-service business. Where traditional agents hand-process paperwork, SPUN uses purpose-built AI agents to bring structure, predictability and reliability to applicants navigating visa requirements that change often and differ by country — starting with inbound and outbound permits for Indonesia.

Co-founders Christa Sabathaly and Dilla Anindita met at LINE Indonesia. Anindita, a former product lead at Grab and Cookpad, experienced the fragility of cross-border relocation firsthand when her job in Japan ended on her first day. Through Antler's Indonesia residency they launched SPUN's commerce site in March 2024, adding a money-back guarantee if a visa is rejected and cutting document verification from about 40 minutes to 3–4 minutes.

By January 2026 SPUN had closed a $1.8M seed led by Genesia Ventures, with Antler, Spiral Ventures, Iterative, Kopital Ventures and angel Kum Hong Siew participating. The market context: more than 20 million passengers fly internationally from Indonesia each year, and Indonesian passport holders need visas for 106 of 195 countries. In its first 12 months SPUN processed thousands of applications with a 99% approval rate, all for paying customers at market prices.

The platform now supports 300+ visa types across 90+ countries, serves more than 200 travel agents and resellers, and is embedded in major Southeast Asian travel platforms including Klook, Traveloka, Tiket and Nusatrip. Investors framed it as a structural problem: visa processes are increasingly digital but still frustratingly complex, and SPUN is building the intelligence layer that standardizes them regionally.

这件事要成立,得有什么

  • Sabathaly and Anindita saw the same inefficiency on both sides: individuals and companies managing visas at scale face identical, constantly changing requirements.
  • SPUN bet on a single high-stakes vertical and built one intelligence layer that works across markets instead of rebuilding per country.
  • Its AI agents plus a money-back guarantee addressed the two things travelers fear most: confusion and rejection.
  • Early proof was real and paid for: thousands of applications with a 99% approval rate, all at market prices rather than subsidized.

可借鉴之处

Pick a chore everyone treats as a manual service and rebuild it as infrastructure: standardize one high-stakes workflow across countries, and a single AI system out-scales an army of human agents.

后续进展

As of 19 January 2026, SPUN is live and scaling: it closed a $1.8M seed led by Genesia Ventures with Antler, Spiral Ventures, Iterative, Kopital Ventures and angel Kum Hong Siew, earmarked for expansion into key Southeast Asian markets, deeper AI automation and stronger integrations with travel platforms and B2B partners. The platform supports 300+ visa types across 90+ countries, serves over 200 travel agents and resellers, and is embedded in Klook, Traveloka, Tiket and Nusatrip, with a 99% approval rate across thousands of processed applications. No later funding or outcome announced.
