E-commerce marketplace for trading livestock, dairy items, poultry-meat products, animal feed, nutrients, medicines and veterinary services

That one open marketplace with zero joining fee — 15 verticals, logistics and payments arranged — could organize an animal economy the company sizes at Rs 32 lakh crore

Animpet Ecomm Pvt Ltd was incorporated in 2021 in Gurugram by Bhasker Pathak, Ashish Gupta and Karishma Dagar, who say they spent four years on subject research and technology deployment before launching.

After trial runs the company says mounted over 25,000 vendors offering 150,000 products and services, it launched the hybrid e-marketplace Animstok.com in May 2023 with logistics and a payment gateway arranged, and began tapping investors to raise expansion funds.

It is a deliberate bet to formalize a massive unorganized market with a zero-fee, open-registration model rather than a curated supply side.

The multi-vertical structure (15 verticals on one platform) is a testable thesis about marketplace liquidity in agricultural trade.

The launch is a concrete, dated decision with the founders' own sizing of the opportunity on record.

Self-reported trial metrics give a baseline to judge the bet against, however generous.

Huge fragmented agricultural markets attract marketplace plays, but launch-day vendor counts are self-reported promises — the test is whether 15 verticals share one liquidity pool.

As of the 2023-05-05 launch report: the platform was live with 15 verticals laid out, vendor targets of one million sellers and 10 million products stated, and early-stage fundraising for expansion underway — all per company statements reported by PTI.
