Crypto security platform monitoring on- and off-chain data sources to predict and prevent attacks before they occur.

That crypto attacks can be predicted and stopped before they execute — monitoring on- and off-chain data for threats pre-attack, not alerting after.

$9 million seed led by boldstart ventures and IBI tech fund, with strategic investments from Blockdaemon, Alchemy, Borderless, CMT Digital and Nexo

Gal Sagie and Dan Caspi, who built large-scale distributed systems and security at IBM, Google and Microsoft, started Hypernative early in 2022 after watching 'huge amounts of money getting stolen or phished or scammed in crypto.'

In September 2022 it launched Pre-Cog, its first product, which monitors on- and off-chain data sources to predict threats before they occur; Sagie says it has helped users save 'tens of millions' of dollars since launch.

Crypto hacks drained $3.77 billion across 134 incidents in 2022, and $1.62 billion of that — almost half — came in Q4 alone.

Existing tools alert after the fact; Hypernative's wedge is prediction, firing alerts minutes or hours before an attack executes.

'Hackers don't sleep,' as Sagie put it — bear markets don't slow attacks, so the security budget survives when other crypto spending doesn't.

In a market defined by losses, the defensible product is the one that stops the loss: prevention prices above detection.

As of the January 2023 seed, Pre-Cog had been live since September 2022 and the team was building toward automated prevention workflows for asset managers, hedge funds, traders, market makers, blockchains and protocols.
