What the business is
Consumer fintech: a multi-currency wallet on stablecoins — dollars, euros, gold, bitcoin, US stocks — for users across Latin America.
The bet
People in devaluation-prone economies would hold savings in stablecoin dollars if the account felt like a wallet: no minimum, no bank paperwork, T-bill yield behind it.
How it started
Founded in Colombia in 2021 to protect savings from local-currency devaluation, starting with digital dollars. Cofounder Óscar Flórez joined after Rappi, Habi, Huspy and Revolut.
What happened
Yield Pots — US Treasury-bill yield on dollar balances — launched in February 2024 and reached $80M in volume by October (CoinDesk). The app added euros, gold, bitcoin, a Mastercard accepted in 210+ countries, and in August 2026 exposure to 18 US stocks and six ETFs from one USDC via partner Dinari. It now operates in five countries with 80 staff.
How it ended up
Still private and scaling; no major equity round publicized.
What has to be true
Colombians already dollarized informally; Littio removed the minimums and paperwork banks attach to dollar accounts.
Stablecoin rails let an 80-person team run multi-currency accounts across five countries without a bank charter in each one.
Yield turned a parking spot into a product: Treasury returns gave users a reason to keep balances rather than pass through.
A Dubai base repositions the same stablecoin stack for Asia, Europe and Africa, where the devaluation problem repeats.
What can be applied
In devaluation markets a dollar account is a wedge: win trust with one simple balance, then attach yield, cards and investments. Meeting users inside WhatsApp beats asking them for a new app.
Aftermath
As of September 2026 Littio reports 500,000+ users and US$1.3B moved. Cofounder and CPTO Óscar Flórez is relocating to Dubai to lead expansion toward Asia, Europe and Africa, with hiring under way in Colombia, Mexico, Spain and the Middle East. WhatsApp transfers of up to 1,000 USDC or EURC between registered users launched in August 2026. Monetization now spans yield spreads, card spending and stock-position flow.
