NewCore bets AI agents need employee-grade identities; $66M seed at $300M

Ex-Dome9 founder Zohar Alon builds identity infrastructure where AI agents are first-class workers; NewCore exits stealth with $66M and a $300M valuation.

What the business is

NewCore is a cybersecurity startup whose identity platform manages human employees, machines and AI agents in one system — agents get their own permissions, lifecycle controls, trust scores and revocation, with integrations for coding assistants like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Cursor.

Starting capital$66M total: a $16M initial round and a $50M follow-on at a $300M post-money valuation, led by Cyberstarts with Index Ventures and Evolution Equity Partners, plus angels including Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport (per Globes).

How it started

Zohar Alon, who founded cloud-security startup Dome9 (sold to Check Point in 2018 for $161M), co-founded NewCore in January 2025 with CTO Amihai Neiderman (former Unit 8200 research leader and Nym Health founder) and Erez Yarkoni (ex-CIO of T-Mobile USA and Telstra). The idea formed in 2023 while Alon reviewed a customer's identity bill: huge spend, unhappy customer — a stagnant market.

What happened

NewCore raised $66M (a $16M round plus a $50M follow-on at a $300M post-money valuation) from Cyberstarts, Index Ventures and Evolution Equity Partners, with angels including Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport. It emerged from stealth on 2026-06-15 with 50+ employees across Tel Aviv and the US, fewer than 10 customers and more than 10 design partners, and an 'Agentic Skill' package letting Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Cursor access enterprise systems as managed identities.

How it ended up

Live: out of stealth June 2026 with a $66M round at a $300M valuation and 50+ staff; fewer than 10 customers and 10+ design partners, with paid charging slated to begin summer 2026. No revenue disclosed.

Background

NewCore is a bet that AI agents will be treated as employees, not software tools, and that enterprise identity infrastructure must be rebuilt for them. Co-founder and CEO Zohar Alon — who sold cloud-security startup Dome9 to Check Point in 2018 for $161M — argues that identity platforms designed for human web logins will break as agents get their own permissions, lifecycles and revocation needs, and that a single employee may eventually oversee hundreds of agents.

The product is a security-first identity platform managing humans, machines and AI agents in one system. Agents are first-class identities with their own trust scores and revocation, protected by a split-key architecture that splits credentials between customer and platform so no single compromise unlocks everything, plus phishing-resistant MFA and hardware-bound credentials. An 'Agentic Skill' package integrates with Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Cursor so coding assistants enter enterprise systems as managed identities rather than shared credentials.

Founded in January 2025 by Alon, CTO Amihai Neiderman (former Unit 8200 research leader and Nym Health founder) and CCO Erez Yarkoni (ex-CIO of T-Mobile USA and Telstra), NewCore raised $66M — a $16M round plus a $50M follow-on at a $300M post-money valuation — from Cyberstarts, Index Ventures and Evolution Equity Partners, with angels including Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport.

NewCore emerged from stealth on 2026-06-15 with more than 50 employees across Tel Aviv and the US, fewer than 10 customers and more than 10 design partners, and expected to begin charging customers in summer 2026. It demoed at Identiverse in Las Vegas the same week, positioning itself against Okta, Microsoft Entra and the merged Palo Alto Networks-CyberArk.

What has to be true

  • Alon's 2023 discovery — a customer paying a huge identity bill while unhappy — showed a stagnant market ripe for disruption.
  • The product targets a structural gap: agents are neither human users nor simple service accounts, so identity infrastructure built for logins does not fit them.
  • A $66M round at a $300M valuation from Cyberstarts, Index and Evolution, plus operator angels, is concrete conviction before any public revenue.
  • Integrations with Claude Code, Codex and Cursor put the product where agent adoption is already happening.

What can be applied

A stagnant market of unhappy big spenders is a wedge: instead of extending 20-year-old identity platforms, NewCore built for agents and raised $66M on timing alone.

Aftermath

As of 2026-06-15, NewCore is live: 50+ employees across the US and Israel, fewer than 10 customers and more than 10 design partners, with paid charging expected to start summer 2026. The platform manages human, machine and AI-agent identities with split-key credentials and coding-assistant integrations, and was demonstrated at Identiverse in Las Vegas (June 15–18, 2026). Alon's stated risk is whether guardrails get built before agents outnumber human employees at technology-heavy organizations.
