Orange Slice bets AI agents in a spreadsheet beat cold lists; PH #1, $5.3M seed

YC S25 sales tool: describe a buyer, agents mine court dockets/permits/job posts into a scored sheet; Product Hunt #1 Apr 27 2026, $5.3M seed with Paul Graham.

Orange Slice

The betAI agents in a spreadsheet, mining niche signals (court dockets, permits, job posts) for in-market buyers, will beat static cold lists β€” timing, not message, wins sales.Scaling

What the business is

Orange Slice is an AI sales-enrichment spreadsheet: describe the prospect you want in chat and agents scan company sites, news, job postings, court records and building permits, then write enriched, scored rows teams act on; 100+ built-in enrichments and a typed TypeScript SDK.

Starting capital:$5.3M seed (Feb 2026), co-led by 1984 Ventures and Moxxie Ventures with Paul Graham as angel; earlier $500K pre-seed with Peterson Ventures, Y Combinator and Tobias Lutke.

How it started

Kishan Sripada and Vihaar Nandigala met on a Bollywood dance team at the University of Michigan. Sripada ran growth experiments at Ramp and concluded targeting, not templates, wins; Nandigala had sold a restaurant-tech startup at 19 and worked at J.P. Morgan. YC told them to finish their degrees first; they reapplied, entered the Summer 2025 batch and launched during their final semester.

What happened

After Demo Day they closed a $5.3M seed co-led by 1984 Ventures and Moxxie Ventures, with Paul Graham as angel. The company posted two YC Launch updates ('Prospects That Already Want to Buy', then 'Claude Code for GTM'), and on 2026-04-27 Orange Slice hit #1 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard with 429 upvotes. By April 2026 profile coverage put 5,000+ sales and RevOps teams on the platform, with integrations into Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, Slack and Gmail.

How it ended up

Live and scaling: hiring engineers, growing past a two-person founding team, and positioning as the AI sales-workflow alternative to Clay; founders publicly call it still early.

Background

Orange Slice is a YC Summer 2025 startup from two University of Michigan classmates who met on a Bollywood dance team: Kishan Sripada (CTO) and Vihaar Nandigala (CEO). The product is an AI sales-enrichment spreadsheet β€” describe the kind of company you want to sell to in chat, and agents scan company sites, news, job postings, court records and building permits, then write enriched, scored rows into a sheet. It ships with 100+ built-in enrichments and a fully typed TypeScript SDK.

The founding insight came from Sripada's growth work at Ramp: reply rates are set by the list, not the pitch. Rather than another outbound tool, Orange Slice automates the research that only big companies could afford, targeting niche, time-sensitive signals β€” court dockets for legal tech, building permits for proptech, load boards for logistics. YC initially told the founders to finish their degrees; they reapplied, joined S25, and launched during their final semester.

After Demo Day they raised a $5.3M seed co-led by 1984 Ventures and Moxxie Ventures with Paul Graham as angel, then posted two YC Launch updates. On 2026-04-27 Orange Slice hit #1 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard with 429 upvotes. By April 2026 profile coverage reported 5,000+ sales and RevOps teams using the platform, integrated with Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, Slack and Gmail, and the two founders were hiring engineers to scale.

What has to be true

  • Timing beats message in B2B: the founders' Ramp experience showed that finding the right account at the right moment, not polishing outreach, drives conversion.
  • The spreadsheet is a Trojan horse: sales teams already live in sheets and CRMs, so Orange Slice skips workflow adoption β€” describe, run, act.
  • Niche signals are the moat: court dockets, building permits and job posts reveal in-market intent that generic lead-gen filters miss, and each vertical deepens the crawl.
  • A patient founding story: YC's 'finish your degree' rejection produced a team with a live product built during their final semester rather than an abandoned dropout sprint.

What can be applied

Improve the list, not the pitch: buying-intent signals mined from niche, time-sensitive sources compound as a moat, while competitors keep optimizing message templates everyone ignores.

Aftermath

As of 2026-09-02 Orange Slice is live with 100+ enrichments, a typed TypeScript SDK, and native integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio, Slack and Gmail; profile coverage in April 2026 reported 5,000+ sales and RevOps teams on the platform and named customers including Oracle, Confido Health, Pirros and Glass Health. The founders are hiring engineering talent to scale infrastructure. No later funding round or acquisition has been reported; the company positions itself as the AI-native, agentic alternative to incumbents like Clay.
