What the business is
Pascal is a Tampa-based open-source software startup (founded 2025) whose flagship, Pascal Editor, is a 3D building editor that runs in a browser tab: users draw walls with the mouse, then add zones, slabs, ceilings, roofs, parametric doors and windows (cutouts computed by boolean geometry), and furniture that snaps to floors, walls or ceilings. How it started
Aymeric Rabot and Wassim Samad founded Pascal (2025, Tampa) and built a 3D building editor on React Three Fiber and WebGPU with the explicit goal of avoiding the bloated, licensed desktop tools that dominated floor-plan software. The first version covered the core drafting loop in a browser: walls, zones, slabs, ceilings and roofs, parametric doors and windows whose wall cutouts compute automatically, and furniture placement with collision-aware snapping.

Pascal then opened the model up on three fronts: MIT-licensed code on GitHub (pascalorg/editor), a free Pascal Capture iOS app that scans a real room with the LiDAR on an iPhone 12 Pro or newer (Apple RoomPlan) and returns editable walls, doors and furniture rather than a frozen mesh, and an MCP server with roughly 30 tools - create_room, add_door, add_window, furnish_room, measure, check_collisions, undo - so Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can work on a scene in natural language. Since August 11, 2026 a single npx command runs editor and MCP service locally with no account or API key. IFC import and GLB/STL/OBJ export (the latter contributed by outsiders) plus a plugin system extended the reach, and by the end of Q2 2026 the repository reached 17.1K GitHub stars.
How it ended up
As of September 2026 the pascalorg/editor repository is a mature monorepo with separate core, viewer, editor, nodes, CLI and MCP packages, and Korben's July profile described continued feature work including terrain sculpting and real-time team editing with visible cursors. Adoption is strong for an open-source tool, but Pascal has not disclosed revenue or a funding round beyond South Park Commons backing.
