Peeko
What the business is
Peeko is a Bengaluru babycare quick-commerce platform stocking a curated 25,000-30,000 SKU assortment of apparel, toys, baby gear and consumables, delivered in under 60 minutes with try-and-buy and instant doorstep returns.
Starting capital:$3.2M seed led by Stellaris Venture Partners (2025); ₹67.4 Cr (about $8.1M) Series A led by Chiratae Ventures with Stellaris and angel investors (August 2026).
How it started
Peeko was founded in Bengaluru in 2025 by IIT alumni Chetan Sharma (ex-Leap), Vivek Khetan (ex-OYO) and Abhijit Gairola (ex-Leap). Their observation was that new-age parents still avoided buying baby apparel and toys online because e-commerce could not solve touch-and-feel, fit uncertainty or delivery speed, leaving a fragmented market served by generalist marketplaces.
What happened
After a $3.2M seed led by Stellaris Venture Partners, Peeko launched and grew through word of mouth among Bengaluru parents. In eleven months it says more than 100,000 parents shopped on the platform, and the majority of transacting users opted for try-and-buy. In August 2026 it raised a ₹67.4 Cr Series A led by Chiratae Ventures with Stellaris and angels joining, earmarking the capital for expansion beyond its current 50-55% Bengaluru delivery coverage — six dark stores by end-2026 are planned to cover the entire city.
No ending yet — it is still running.
Background
Peeko is a Bengaluru babycare quick-commerce platform built for new-age parents. It stocks a curated assortment of 25,000-30,000 SKUs across apparel and accessories, toys and learning, baby gear and consumables — roughly five times what a typical baby store carries — and delivers in under 60 minutes with try-and-buy and instant doorstep returns.
Founded in 2025 by IIT alumni Chetan Sharma (ex-Leap), Vivek Khetan (ex-OYO) and Abhijit Gairola (ex-Leap), Peeko targeted a gap its founders saw in Indian e-commerce: parents avoided buying baby products online because they could not touch fabrics, check fit or get urgent items fast enough.
The model worked in Bengaluru first. Within eleven months the company said more than 100,000 parents had shopped on the platform, with a majority of transacting users choosing its try-and-buy option. Coverage reached 50-55% of Bengaluru for 60-minute delivery, and the company planned six dark stores by the end of 2026 to cover the whole city.
Investors backed the thesis in August 2026 with a ₹67.4 Cr Series A led by Chiratae Ventures, with existing backer Stellaris Venture Partners and angels participating, after a $3.2M seed in 2025. The fresh capital is earmarked for expansion into new cities, technology development and hiring.
What has to be true
- Baby products have the worst fit and quality uncertainty of any consumer category, so a platform that solves touch-and-feel attacks a real reason parents avoid e-commerce.
- Sub-60-minute delivery matches how parents actually shop — urgently, when diapers, formula or last-minute needs arise.
- Try-and-buy with instant returns converted hesitation into trust, and the majority of transacting users choosing it became Peeko's retention story.
- Deep curation (five times a typical store's range) made Peeko a destination rather than another generalist marketplace.
What can be applied
Win on the trust gap, not the catalogue: fixing touch-and-feel and speed — the reasons parents avoided e-commerce — made try-and-buy Peeko's retention story.
Aftermath
As of 2026-08-20 Peeko is live in Bengaluru and scaling: more than 100,000 parents have shopped in its first eleven months, 60-minute delivery covers 50-55% of the city, and the ₹67.4 Cr Series A led by Chiratae Ventures is funding six planned dark stores by end-2026 plus entry into new cities.
