What the business is
A digital platform that manages the whole employee relocation journey through an app, covering moves to more than 25 countries.
The bet
That relocation — 20-30 messy processes — can run end-to-end in one app and be sold to employers at accessible price points, cutting their costs by up to 70%.
Starting capital
£8M Series A co-led by Stage 2 Capital and AlbionVC, February 2022
How it started
Co-founders Paul Bennett (CEO), Dr. Ace Vinayak and Oliver Markham built PerchPeek in London around the observation that relocation stacks 20-30 processes into one stressful moment, while traditional support packages cost companies thousands and only reached senior staff.
What happened
Through 2021 the platform signed tech, financial and consulting firms including Thoughtworks, Liberty Global, Impala and INEOS, with relocations up 250% in H2 2021 versus H1. In February 2022 it raised the £8M Series A to grow its app-development team and expand. CEO Paul Bennett called 2022 "the year of the great relocation", citing a survey that 79% of employees would consider moving abroad for work.
What has to be true
The round backs a structural claim — permanent global mobility — rather than a product feature, and the founders state it plainly: 2021 was the great resignation, 2022 is the great relocation.
It attacks the cost structure of an incumbent industry: traditional relocation support is expensive because it is human-driven and reserved for executives.
The claimed 70% cost saving and 250% half-on-half growth give the bet measurable tests: renewal by corporate customers and volume through the app.
Named corporate customers (Thoughtworks, Liberty Global, INEOS) show the employer-paid model already works beyond pilots.
What can be applied
When work goes global, an executive perk can be productized into a mainstream benefit — but the wedge only holds if the platform makes the economics visibly better, not just the experience.
Aftermath
As of 22 February 2022, PerchPeek was using the £8M to expand its app-development team, covering moves to 25+ countries, with customers including Thoughtworks, Liberty Global, Impala and INEOS and relocations up 250% in H2 2021 versus H1.
