SentinelOne is a US AI-powered cybersecurity company; PingSafe is a Bengaluru startup selling a cloud-native application protection platform.

Merging PingSafe's attacker-intelligence CNAPP with SentinelOne's AI platform gives customers one integrated cloud-security product instead of multiple point solutions.

Undisclosed cash-and-stock price; PingSafe had a $3.3M seed.

Ethical hackers Anand Prakash (CEO) and Nishant Mittal (CTO) founded PingSafe in 2021 and it left stealth in July 2023 with $3.3M led by Peak XV Partners' Surge programme.

SentinelOne said it would acquire PingSafe for a mix of cash and stock, with closing expected in its first quarter of fiscal 2025 subject to approvals. It plans to integrate the product into Singularity, which chief product officer Ric Smith said would remove the complexity of multiple point solutions.

SentinelOne already had cloud workload and cloud data security but no CNAPP

Customers were facing the complexity of multiple point solutions and incomplete context

PingSafe's attacker-intelligence approach was built for multi-cloud environments

A cash-and-stock structure let a young startup join a larger platform at a fast pace

For a platform vendor, buying a young specialist with a fast-moving category product can close a gap faster than building it, and the startup's exit clock can run in months.

As of 5 January 2024 the acquisition was announced and pending closure in SentinelOne's Q1 fiscal 2025. No price was disclosed.
