How it started

Background
SOND is a Boston sleep-tech company whose bet is that the next generation of sleep products will intervene during the night instead of scoring it in the morning. Its debut product, Dreambuds, is an in-ear closed-loop system: 12 physiological signals - respiration, heart-rate variability, sleep staging, snoring, and seismocardiography among them - stream to a cloud AI coach that picks or generates audio in real time and learns what works for each user.
Founder and CEO Yadid Ayzenberg had lived the problem at Bose, where his startup The Sync Project was acquired in 2018 and he ran Bose's consumer sleep business, including Sleepbuds 2.
