Traqo is an Indian platform that automates freight procurement, planning, tracking and payment audits for manufacturers' mid-mile logistics.

Manufacturers will pay a SaaS fee to automate vendor choice, bidding and tracking on 100-200 km mid-mile freight, a stage rivals leave underserved.

Mukesh Deogune co-founded Signo in 2020, just after graduating, to streamline driver management for companies. After Covid-19 it became a service business managing payroll for drivers and logistics staff. Deogune says he was drawn into operations rather than product, so he left and, in 2022, founded Traqo. Traqo first planned to supply live camera devices to the logistics industry, but he says hardware required substantial funding and the market was not ready for such a leap.

Traqo syncs with a manufacturer's order management system, assigns vendors, notifies them over WhatsApp or email and lets them bid in reverse auctions. It runs on three modules, planning, tracking and audit, and the founder says planning delivers at least 15% freight savings. Contract values rose from about $6K at the start to $15-20K and, the company claims, up to $50,000 a year for some customers. Revenue was INR 80 lakh in the first year and about INR 2.7 Cr the next, per the founder.

Per the founder, Traqo expected to close the current fiscal year at about INR 5 Cr. Inc42 noted the company competes with Freight Tiger, Shipsy and LogiNext, and that sticking to the mid-mile may limit it while quick-commerce pulls attention to the last mile.

Mid-mile freight involves several carriers and siloed systems, so manufacturers lack visibility and manage vendors by hand, according to the founder.

Hardware cameras needed substantial funding, while a software layer on the manufacturer's own order system did not.

Reverse-auction bidding and consolidation of small shipments give a measurable pitch: Traqo says at least 15% freight savings from planning.

Building materials, steel, furniture and plywood makers depend on many transport vendors, which gave the company strong early use cases.

A founder can swap capital-hungry hardware for software on a neglected slice of a known workflow, but growth figures that are self-reported need outside checks before they are treated as proof.

As of 2024-11-15 Traqo reports more than 100 clients and expects about INR 5 Cr in revenue for the fiscal year. All revenue and savings figures are company claims reported by Inc42, and the article says the company focuses only on mid-mile while last-mile and quick-commerce opportunities multiply.
