Emiza is an Indian third-party logistics provider offering warehousing and fulfilment to D2C and B2B brands.

A fulfilment provider that also owns the shipping software layer can promise D2C brands one seamless journey from factory to consumer.

INR 37.5 Cr Series B (May 2022) from JM Financial Private Equity and Mayfield India; earlier $4.5M from Mayfield, Freshdesk's Nishant Rao and Aaroha's Dileep Nath. Shippigo's price was undisclosed.

Founded in 2015 by Ajay Rao, Emiza grew into a third-party logistics partner for more than 150 direct-to-consumer and B2B brands, managing 17 warehouses across 18 Indian cities with a specialisation in omnichannel and multichannel logistics. In May 2022 it raised a INR 37.5 Cr Series B from JM Financial Private Equity and Mayfield India.

Two months later it acquired Shippigo, an online shipping platform founded by Saurabh Jaitly and Nitish Gupta that let ecommerce companies plug in their shopping carts, import shipping details and process shipments worldwide. Rao said integrating Shippigo's 'tech-smart solutions' would extend a seamless fulfilment journey from factory to consumer; Gupta promised 'an unstoppable synergy between technology, warehousing, fulfilment and last-mile'. The deal landed in a buzzing market: India's logistics industry was projected to touch $380 billion by 2025 at 12% CAGR, and marketplace Vahak had raised $14 million the month before.

Emiza ran 17 warehouses but relied on third-party shipping tools — the acquisition closed the gap between storage and last mile.

Shippigo brought plug-and-play cart integration, worldwide shipment processing, and delivery-monitoring and customer-engagement tools.

The deal came straight off a Series B — a typical post-funding capability buy in India's consolidating, $380-billion-by-2025 logistics market.

In 3PL, the integration layer is the moat: whoever owns the software connecting carts to carriers owns the customer — whoever owns only warehouses rents it out.

As of July 2022, Emiza planned to fold Shippigo's technology into its platform to streamline everything from warehousing to last-mile delivery for its 150+ brands. Both sides talked integration rather than standalone growth, and the acquisition price was not disclosed.
