Before selling that, the team open-sourced scientific-agent-skills, a library that turns any AI agent into an AI Scientist and works with any host supporting the open Agent Skills standard.

The library first reached #1 on GitHub Trending on March 3, 2026, and by September stood at 41.7k stars and roughly 190,000 scientists worldwide (Trendshift). On March 16, 2026, Accel Atoms and Google's AI Futures Fund announced K-Dense among five startups in AI Cohort 2026, chosen from more than 4,000 applicants; each received up to $2 million in co-investment and up to $350,000 in Google Cloud, Gemini, and DeepMind compute credits.
