业务是什么
Multiplier Holdings acquires accounting and professional service firms and outfits them with its own AI capabilities.
The bet
That acquiring small professional-service firms and rebuilding their work with AI scales margins — a venture-style roll-up toward an AI rival to the Big Four.
启动资金
$27.5 million across seed (Ribbit Capital, with SV Angel) and Series A (led by Lightspeed Venture Partners).
如何开始
In late 2022 Noah Pepper, formerly Stripe's business lead for Asia Pacific, founded Multiplier to sell software to tax accountants. After ChatGPT was released he reconsidered: 'I realized I was barking up the wrong tree by trying to build a SaaS business, and instead I should figure out how to make these people more effective.'
发生了什么
Multiplier acquired Citrine International Tax, a 12-person boutique cross-border tax accounting firm, and enhanced it with AI it built itself. By eliminating manual work, Citrine's profit margins more than doubled — proof the strategy worked — so Multiplier decided to acquire existing professional service businesses rather than sell to them. It became Multiplier Holdings and raised $27.5M, riding a roll-up wave backed by General Catalyst, Elad Gil, Thrive and Khosla Ventures.
成立的前提
The pivot was evidence-led: one acquired firm's margins more than doubled before the fundraising, proving the model instead of promising it.
Firm size is the adoption variable — 12-person Citrine adopted AI fast in a way a 200-accountant firm would not.
The endgame is structural: personal tax compliance first, expanding into an AI-powered competitor to the Big Four accounting firms.
Founder selection is underwriting: Pepper targets high-recurring-revenue firms 'helmed by people who are excited to integrate and help customize AI'.
可以借鉴什么
When AI changes the unit economics of services, owning the firm beats selling the tool — adoption is guaranteed when you sign the paycheques.

As of June 2025, Multiplier Holdings offered personal tax compliance and planned to expand beyond it toward an AI-powered Big Four competitor. It was looking to buy high-recurring-revenue service firms — 'a little bit like a venture-style business where you're looking to make a bet on this leader who you think is just amazing in their category', Pepper said.
