Xavier Collins, formerly of Deliveroo and Turo and a founding partner at Lumiere Ventures, and Justin Hackney, a BAFTA-winning filmmaker and former Creative Director at ElevenLabs, founded Wonder in London and launched in April 2025 with a pre-seed of more than £2M that included investors from ElevenLabs and Google DeepMind. Their thesis: generative video had collapsed production timelines from months to days, but no one had rebuilt the studio model around it.

Within six months Wonder produced an AI music video for Lewis Capaldi's 'Something in the Heavens' with Google DeepMind, YouTube and Universal Music Group — which also drew backlash from fans worried about AI replacing human creatives — and released 'Beyond the Loop', its first original anthology, co-produced with ElevenLabs, Freepik, Fal and Kling AI. The series passed 1.5M views and a second season was greenlit. In October 2025 Atomico led a $12M seed alongside LocalGlobe, Blackbird and Adobe Ventures; Wonder said it had generated significant revenue in its first six months and would double its engineering team and push into IP ownership.
