Designs and manufactures autonomous electric eVTOL aircraft; the CarryAll V2000CG freighter carries 400 kg over 250 km at 200 km/h for logistics, emergency supply and rescue.

That autonomous cargo gets certified before passenger air taxis: a 2-ton electric freighter could clear the CAAC first and open low-altitude logistics years sooner.

$100M Series A from Lukasz Gadowski and Team Global, announced Nov 22, 2021 (PR Newswire).

Tian Yu, who founded consumer-drone pioneer Yuneec, started AutoFlight in 2016 — headquartered in Shanghai with R&D in Munich and Shenzhen and a test center in Los Angeles — betting electric autonomous flight would scale through cargo first (eVTOL.news).

CAAC completed verification testing in February 2024; the type certificate followed in March 2024. That same month the company flew the first inter-city eVTOL air-taxi demo, from Shenzhen to Zhuhai. The production certificate was issued December 24, 2024 and announced January 26, 2025 as the world's first for a 2-ton-class eVTOL, clearing the way for mass production and individual aircraft certification.

By June 2026 the V2000CG held the only complete TC+PC+AC certificate stack among ton-class eVTOLs worldwide, and Indonesia's DGCA issued the first overseas eVTOL validation (VTC, June 3, 2026), authorizing commercial cargo operations across the archipelago.

China's regulator created the world's first certification regime for ton-class eVTOLs as part of the low-altitude economy push, and AutoFlight was first in line through it.

Cargo dodges the hardest regulatory questions: with no passengers aboard, the certification burden is lighter and revenue starts with logistics, emergency supply and rescue contracts.

The certificate stack is a moat that compounds across borders — the Indonesia VTC was only reviewable because the CAAC TC, PC and AC already existed.

Founder credibility helped fund the long certification cycle: Tian Yu previously founded consumer-drone pioneer Yuneec, and Team Global's $100M Series A (2021) covered the years of compliance work.

Regulatory strategy is product strategy: certifying the uncrewed freighter first gave AutoFlight a compliance moat competitors must repeat aircraft-by-aircraft and market-by-market.

As of June 2026, AutoFlight is scaling production of the CarryAll V2000CG under its production certificate, certifying individual aircraft for delivery, and building delivery and after-sales systems for commercial operations. The Indonesia VTC (issued June 3, 2026, announced June 22, 2026) authorizes nationwide commercial cargo flights there and establishes the first full regulatory pathway from a CAAC type certificate to a foreign jurisdiction's commercial authorization.
