Heart Aerospace, founded in Gothenburg by Anders Forslund and now based in Los Angeles, set out to prove electric propulsion works at airliner scale, not just in small aircraft. Its answer was X1, a full-scale battery-electric demonstrator representative of the planned 30-seat hybrid-electric ES-30, built to gather the flight data and regulatory experience a Part 25 airliner program needs.
