Humand bets deskless workers get their own HR OS; US$66M Series A from Kaszek, Galperin

Argentine HR platform for the 80% of workers without desks raised US$66M — LatAm's biggest HRTech Series A — to build AI agents.

What the business is

Humand is an Argentine HR platform that gives frontline, deskless workers a mobile app for internal communication, pay slips, onboarding, leave and training.

Starting capitalUS$66M Series A (announced February 2026) led by Kaszek Ventures and Goodwater Capital, with Y Combinator, Newtopia VC and angels including Marcos Galperin

How it started

Nicolás Benenzon and Gerónimo Maspero met after a talk by Marcos Galperin and went on to win a communications tender at ArcelorMittal Argentina, creating the app in 2019 and launching it to the market in 2021.

What happened

After moving to Mexico in 2021, Humand added 30 clients in six months, was accepted by Y Combinator in 2022, and by early 2026 served 1.6M users across 1,500+ companies in 51 countries with 420+ employees.

How it ended up

In February 2026 Humand closed the US$66M Series A — described by Nasdaq as the largest in its category in Latin America — to build a new generation of AI agents and expand in the US, Asia and Brazil.

Background

Humand is an Argentine HR-tech founded in 2021 by Nicolás Benenzon and Gerónimo Maspero. Its bet: more than 80% of the global workforce — shop-floor, logistics, hospitality and construction workers — don't sit at desks with corporate email, and existing HR software ignores them. Humand gives them a mobile app that works like a private social network for internal communication, pay slips, onboarding, leave and training.

The founders' wedge came from winning a tender at ArcelorMittal Argentina in 2019 with a 20-day prototype, beating Facebook, Globant and Microsoft. They launched commercially in 2021, moved to Mexico and signed 30 clients in six months; Y Combinator accepted them in 2022.

By February 2026 Humand served 1.6M users at more than 1,500 companies across 51 countries, with 420+ employees. It raised a US$66M Series A led by Kaszek Ventures and Goodwater Capital — joined by Y Combinator, Newtopia VC and angels including Marcos Galperin, Arash Ferdowsi, Sebastián Mejía and Rajat Suri — which Nasdaq called the largest Series A in its category in Latin America.

The capital will fund a new generation of AI agents (including Sammy AI) that automate onboarding, tickets, approvals and performance reviews, and push expansion into the US, Asia and Brazil, where Humand projects 174% revenue growth.

What has to be true

  • Deskless workers are more than 80% of the global workforce, a population HR software largely ignored, so Humand saw an open category rather than a crowded one.
  • The founders proved demand before raising: winning the ArcelorMittal tender against Facebook, Globant and Microsoft, then 30 clients in six months in Mexico.
  • A familiar interface — a private social network — removed the training barrier that kills enterprise apps for workers without corporate devices.
  • A roster of LatAm and global investors — Kaszek, Goodwater, Galperin, Y Combinator — gave the round legitimacy and reach beyond Argentina.

What can be applied

A category no one serves can be a moat: Humand found the 80% of workers without desks were ignored by HR software, and built an app familiar enough — a social network — that no training was needed.

Aftermath

As of February 2026 Humand was scaling post-Series A: 420+ employees, 1.6M users in 51 countries, and a stated plan to grow Brazil revenue 174% in the year, double its 20-person Brazilian team to 50, and develop AI agents for onboarding and internal queries. No exit or valuation was disclosed in the verified sources.
