Loopit bets 'everything playable': ~$100M raised, 2M users in two months

Yongyue Intelligence (涌跃智能) launched Loopit, a 'playable Douyin' where AI turns prompts into interactive content; Musk boost, chart tops, ~$100M by May 2026.

Loopit (Yongyue Intelligence / 涌跃智能)

The betThat the next Douyin distributes experiences, not information: with creation near zero cost, UGC playable content wins before monetization or category consensus.Scaling

What the business is

An AI interactive content platform where users type an idea and the engine generates a playable mini-app (image, voice, video, 3D), then consume and remix others' creations in a single-column feed.

Starting capitalThree funding rounds in 2026 totaling nearly $100M; latest $50M announced 2026-04-22 led by Garena, with Matrix Partners China (fourth follow-on), BlueRun, Ince Capital and others; angel backers included Yayao Capital and Zhongding Capital.

How it started

Chen Weipeng left Baichuan in 2025 after co-founding it in 2023, and founded Yongyue Intelligence in June 2025. Loopit — positioned as 'the playable Douyin' — launched on February 10, 2026 as the company's first product, roughly seven months after founding.

What happened

Within 24 hours of launch, a user-made Loopit video ('Grok vs Others') was commented on and retweeted by Elon Musk, sending the app viral. Loopit topped the US and UK Google Play entertainment charts, reached Google Play global #8 and entertainment #1, and grew to nearly 2 million registered users by mid-April 2026, over half in North America, with next-day retention rising from ~30% to over 50% and a ~30% user creation rate. The company raised three rounds in 2026 totaling nearly $100M, the April round led by game publisher Garena; April also brought multiplayer content creation.

How it ended up

Still live and growing as of May 2026, with no monetization yet — the founder says commercial design waits until the community reaches scale, while competition from Rezona, Aippy and bigger platforms is already forming.

Background

Loopit is an AI interactive content platform from Beijing startup Yongyue Intelligence (涌跃智能), founded in June 2025 by Chen Weipeng, former co-founder and head of LLM at Baichuan AI. Its bet is that the next-generation content platform will not distribute information but experiences: with AI turning plain-language prompts into playable mini-apps, ordinary users become creators of interactive content.

The product launched February 10, 2026 and broke out within a day when a user-made Loopit video was commented on and retweeted by Elon Musk on X. It went on to top the US and UK Google Play entertainment charts, hit Google Play global #8 and entertainment #1, and reached nearly 2 million registered users by mid-April 2026 — over half of them in North America — with next-day retention rising from about 30% to above 50% and a user creation rate around 30%.

Capital followed the product: three rounds in 2026 totaling nearly $100M, the largest a $50M round announced April 22, 2026 led by Garena, with Matrix Partners China following on a fourth time alongside BlueRun, Ince Capital and others. In April 2026 Loopit also shipped multiplayer content creation, pushing from person-vs-content interaction toward people connecting through content.

Monetization is deliberately absent so far: Chen argues that commercial design before community scale would be premature. The open question is whether playable interactive content becomes its own category with its own economics, or a feature absorbed by existing platforms.

What has to be true

  • Founder fit is exact: a builder of frontier models (Baichuan 1–4) who had previously run content distribution at Sogou and Soul — the two skills interactive UGC demands.
  • The Musk retweet gave distribution, but chart positions and 50%+ next-day retention show organic stickiness rather than paid installs.
  • Timing: when LLMs can code and generate multimodally, one person can make what previously required developer, designer and scriptwriter teams.
  • Refusing to narrow into games or social niches keeps the total addressable market open while the category is still undefined.

What can be applied

When AI collapses production cost, widen the product instead of polishing a vertical: a generic, 70-point creation tool compounds faster than a 90-point niche one.

Aftermath

As of 2026-05-08 Loopit remains free with no monetization — Chen says the business model will be derived from user structure once the community is large enough — and faces an intensifying field of similar products (Rezona, Aippy, Sekai) plus eventual moves by large platforms. The ~$100M raised in three months gives the company runway; whether playable content becomes a new platform category is still unproven.
