LTX bets open-weights video beats closed APIs: LTX-2 hits GitHub trending, 33M downloads

Lightricks, the Jerusalem company behind Facetune and Videoleap, fronts its world-model business under the LTX brand. LTX-2 is its open-weights audio-video foundation model: weights, inference pipelines and training code that generate synchronized sound and 4K video up to 20 seconds locally on consumer GPUs, monetized through commercial licenses for companies above $10M ARR, an API, and the LTX platform.

Lightricks was founded in 2013, bootstrapped and profitable on consumer creative apps, then pivoted to foundation models in 2022 as generative AI threatened its editing business.
