Nearthlab builds autonomous drones around an 'Aerial Intelligence' stack — perception, navigation, guidance and control fused across software and hardware — first sold for wind-turbine blade inspection, then repackaged as the counter-drone hard-kill KAiDEN and the swarm-drone XAiDEN.

Autonomy proven on 100,000 wind-turbine inspections transfers to counter-drone and swarm products, and Kosdaq would fund the pivot at the top of the IPO range

Nearthlab was founded in 2015 and spent its first decade commercializing autonomous flight in wind-farm inspection. The company framed its technology as physical AI: software and hardware integrated tightly enough to run perception and decision-making on small drones without human control. By its 2026 IPO briefing it reported more than 100,000 blades inspected in 40 countries and a mission success rate above 99%.

In 2024 Nearthlab moved into defense in earnest with KAiDEN, which autonomously tracks and physically intercepts threatening drones, and XAiDEN, which lets one operator command up to ten drones. The company lined up a roughly US$10 million XAiDEN project in 2025, KAiDEN exports into Southeast Asia, references tied to Singapore and the UAE, and a Korean consortium with LIG Defense & Aerospace on the state procurement agency's counter-drone rapid-demonstration project. Revenue from the UAE XAiDEN project helped it post provisional Q2 2026 revenue of ₩16.9 billion and ₩500 million operating profit — its first quarterly profit. On Aug 6, 2026 it held its IPO briefing; institutional bookbuilding drew 1,795 firms and a 743.5-to-1 ratio with 98% of volume at or above the top, so the 910,000-share offer priced at ₩41,200, the top of the ₩30,000–41,200 range, raising about ₩37.5 billion (~$27 million) at a market capitalization near ₩238 billion (~$172 million).

Nearthlab listed on Kosdaq on Aug 24, 2026. The stock briefly rose to ₩42,000 after the open, then fell through the day to close at ₩28,650, its intraday low — down ₩12,550, or 30.46%, from the issue price — despite the 530x retail demand and ₩2.5 trillion in deposits. Management said proceeds would expand research headcount and its own production and mass-production facilities, and guided toward break-even in 2028.

The wedge was self-verifying: inspection is remote and repeatable, so autonomy either completed the mission — 99%+ across 100,000 blades in 40 countries — or failed visibly before a paying customer.

The defense pivot reused the same stack instead of starting over — flight data from extreme environments became the credibility that KAiDEN and XAiDEN sold to procurement buyers.

Numbers aligned at the right moment: a first quarterly profit on UAE revenue, a 743.5x bookbuild with 98% of bids at the top, and ₩2.5 trillion of retail deposits justified the top price.

Day one showed the gap between subscription demand and durable value: shares closed 30% below issue at the intraday low, a repricing Nearthlab had to absorb while still guiding to a 2028 break-even.

Boring, repeated missions are the moat: 99% success across 100,000 inspections made Nearthlab's defense pivot credible, but record IPO demand still ended in a 30% first-day repricing

As of Aug 24, 2026, Nearthlab trades at ₩28,650, 30.46% below its ₩41,200 issue price, after peaking at ₩42,000 before closing at the low. Proceeds are earmarked for research headcount, production facilities and mass production, and management targets break-even by 2028. The debut hit a weak patch for Kosdaq listings — Kido Industrial, listed Aug 21, closed day one down 34.58% — part of the slide reflects market-wide profit-taking. The open questions are whether Singapore, UAE and domestic references become repeat defense orders, and whether break-even survives procurement cycles.
