What the business is
Polish pet-sitting platform connecting owners with verified caretakers, with a free Petsy Care package covering liability insurance, veterinary help and a behaviourist
The bet
A trust-first marketplace with a three-step vetting process and bundled insurance can lead pet sitting in Poland and expand across Europe
Starting capital
More than €1.1M from 30 business angels, including PsiBufet founder Piotr Wawrysiuk and Cobin Angels investors
How it started
Petsy is a Polish pet sitting and pet care startup. Tech.eu cited estimates of about eight million dogs and seven million cats in Polish households, with pets treated as full family members.
What happened
The platform has over 3,000 verified sitters, is present in forty cities in Poland and four in the Czech Republic, and has over 90,000 registered users. It was used nearly 2,500 times in July 2024 alone, and CEO Michał Wojewoda says services completed rose by over 200% in a year. The raised capital funded expansion in Poland, a platform upgrade and the start of the Czech expansion.
What has to be true
Pets in Poland are increasingly treated as family, raising demand for safe care
Verification and insurance address owners' trust concerns
The company said the market was one of the fastest-growing
The Czech launch and planned DACH entry extend a model proven at home
What can be applied
Petsy's growth figures are company claims; its real test is repeating Polish trust-building in Czechia and DACH.
Aftermath
As of 2024-09-10 Petsy had raised over €1.1M, operated in Poland and the Czech Republic and was working on a next round for DACH expansion. Usage and growth numbers are company-reported.
