CEO Frederik Filz-Reiterdank had built a previous construction company to $30M+ revenue and about 100 people in two years, and the operator shortage was the single biggest constraint on growth. Crewline, an Entrepreneurs First portfolio company, was founded in 2025 with CTO Mohamed Sadek building the autonomy stack from scratch and a four-person team on its sixth hardware kit, on the thesis that foundation models and better sensor suites had crossed the threshold where autonomous heavy equipment is a deployable product, not a research project.
