起因

CEO Frederik Filz-Reiterdank had built a previous construction company to $30M+ revenue and about 100 people in two years, and the operator shortage was the single biggest constraint on growth. Crewline, an Entrepreneurs First portfolio company, was founded in 2025 with CTO Mohamed Sadek building the autonomy stack from scratch and a four-person team on its sixth hardware kit, on the thesis that foundation models and better sensor suites had crossed the threshold where autonomous heavy equipment is a deployable product, not a research project.

In April 2026 Crewline announced a $7.1M seed round led by Initialized Capital and Nebular. By then it had real deployments: on a 30-acre airport extension in Austin (customer Dynamic Site Solutions), daily downtime fell from six hours to under one hour over a 30-day deployment while total labor hours stayed flat and productive hours nearly doubled; a redeployment with Watts Services in Philadelphia scaled from one roller to three with zero accidents. After ConExpo 2026, 241 contractors joined the waitlist, representing over $26M in potential annual contracts, with Bechtel and Haydon in the pipeline.

结果

Live and shipping: the autonomy kit runs on paying contractors' vibratory rollers, the $7.1M seed is in the bank, and the roadmap extends to dozers, rock trucks and excavators; revenue beyond the waitlist has not been disclosed.
