Fulcrum raises $25M led by CRV to replace insurance BPO with AI agents

Fulcrum is an insurtech whose platform automates insurance brokerage back-office servicing with AI agents integrated into existing systems.

That AI agents embedded in brokerage systems can replace the offshore BPO layer — reconciling policies, preparing renewals and issuing certificates same-day.

$25 million combined Seed and Series A, led by CRV, with participation from South Park Commons and Foundation Capital.

Indian-origin founders Arjun Mangla and Sambhav Anand built Fulcrum on LLMs adapted to insurance-specific use cases, plus retrieval and validation pipelines designed to manage accuracy and compliance risk in a low-tolerance-for-error industry.

The platform ingests, reconciles and validates policy documents directly inside existing agency management systems and email infrastructure — attacking the legacy-data fragmentation that kept brokerages dependent on offshore teams. 'The truth is it simply wasn't possible before now,' Anand said of the enormous variation and minutiae involved. The company reports cycle times shifting from weeks to same-day.

BPO's handoffs and turnaround times give AI a measurable baseline to beat — weeks versus same-day.

Deep integration with systems of record sidesteps the legacy-data problem that killed prior automation attempts.

Adoption by major brokerages shows enterprises will swap a labour layer, not just layer on another tool.

The replacement target for AI isn't always software — sometimes it's the offshore labour layer that software never fixed.

With the raise, Fulcrum is scaling across brokerages replacing offshore-heavy servicing models; revenue and customer counts are not disclosed.
