Midday is an open-source business management platform for freelancers and micro-businesses: time tracking, invoicing, receipt-to-bank reconciliation, file storage and financial insights in one app, self-hostable or cloud-hosted.
起因
In 2023 Pontus Abrahamsson and Viktor Hofte — a two-person team in Stockholm — started Midday as a side project to automate bookkeeping. On 2024-06-20 they posted 'Show HN: Midday – Run your business smarter (open-source)', presenting an open platform for micro-businesses, freelancers and contractors with time tracking, invoicing and financial insights, built in public with open metrics.

The product grew through its repo and community: users filed issues, built integrations and followed the founders' public build log. In August 2025 the founders shipped and open-sourced an automatic receipt-to-transaction matching engine ('Auto-Match', Show HN with 39 points) and kept shipping as a two-person company. Ramp — the US spend-management platform with 50,000+ customers — had been following the work for years, per its VP of Design.

Announced 2026-05-06 that Midday is joining Ramp: the founders join Ramp's product team, the Midday product is wound down over three months with refunds on annual plans and a full data export path, and accounts stay active for 90 days.
