January 2025: FT and TechCrunch reported Retro was raising a $1B Series A, with Altman joining. The same month it published its OpenAI collaboration — a protein-engineering model that redesigned the reprogramming factors tested in its labs. December 2025: first participant dosed in a Phase 1 trial of RTR242, its autophagy-restoring small molecule, in Adelaide, Australia.
