In 2024, FuturePlay founder Ryu Jung-hee (류중희) founded RLWRLD, focusing on physical AI and robot foundation models; it was formally unveiled after he stepped down as FuturePlay representative in April 2025. From the beginning, the company had a strategic partnership with South Korea's Rainbow Robotics (彩虹机器人) to jointly develop next-generation reference humanoid robots, and established a cross-embodiment architecture: one model controls humanoid robots from different manufacturers, so customers are not locked into a single hardware.

In July 2026, according to a report by South Korean media outlet thebell, RLWRLD began pursuing a Series A round with a scale clearly exceeding the cumulative seed total of 60 billion won, with funds directed to talent, AI computing, and on-site data collection.
