Eoin Hinchy, an ex-eBay, PayPal and DocuSign security engineer, founded Tines in Dublin in February 2018 with former colleague Thomas Kinsella. At DocuSign he watched talented incident-response engineers repeat the same manual tasks because no platform existed to automate them, so he set out to build one.

Tines raised a $4.1M Series A in October 2019 and began expanding beyond security. After a reported ~$50M round at roughly $600M, it closed a $125M Series C in February 2025 led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives with SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and CrowdStrike Falcon Fund, valuing it at $1.125B. AI features it shipped in 2024 saw 302% growth in adoption, and by July 2026 it reported 124% net revenue retention, a tripled enterprise customer base year over year, and more than 1.5B automated actions a week.

On 2026-07-28 Tines launched 3B, a rebuilt AI-native platform for building, running and governing enterprise workflows, applications and agents, explicitly aimed at the "wild code" employees generate with AI. Its Product Hunt launch on 2026-08-11 finished #1 Product of the Day with 405 upvotes, and the original Tines Stories platform continues alongside 3B for core workflows.
