Zyod bet fashion sourcing could be as easy as online ordering; $21.5M, three factories

做的是什么生意

A Gurugram B2B platform helping apparel brands design, source and manufacture clothing through modular design, smart ERP and a network of hand-picked Indian factories.

启动资金$3.5M seed led by Lightspeed in April 2023, then an $18M Series A led by RTP Global in June 2024 — $21.5M total.

起因

Founded in 2023 by Ankit Jaipuria and Ritesh Khandelwal, who saw that high minimum order quantities and long lead times locked smaller brands out of apparel manufacturing. Their pitch: Zyod and a brand's design team co-create clothing, then Zyod handles sourcing and production so brands can buy smaller batches and cut inventory wastage. A $3.5M seed round led by Lightspeed followed in April 2023.

经过

In June 2024 Zyod raised $18M in a Series A led by RTP Global (with Lightspeed, Alteria Capital, Stride Ventures, Stride One and Trifecta), mostly primary equity. It reported a double-digit-million-dollar annualised revenue run-rate, aimed to triple revenue in FY25, planned to take 80% of business international, and was expanding from 18 countries to more than 40; customers included Reliance, Aditya Birla, Rare Rabbit, FirstCry, NEXT and Landmark Group.

结果

Still live and scaling: by mid-2026 Zyod had opened its third 'excellence hub' in two years — a 100,000+ sq ft Gurugram factory with 750+ machines and capacity for over 60 lakh garments a year, IoT production tracking and automated shirt lines, positioned to serve global retailers such as Marks & Spencer, Walmart and Tesco and expected to create 2,000+ jobs.

背景

Zyod was founded in 2023 by Ankit Jaipuria and Ritesh Khandelwal on a simple frustration: fashion manufacturing is dominated by high minimum order quantities and long lead times, which shut small brands out of production and force bigger ones into inventory waste. Their answer was to modularise clothing styles — breaking designs into reusable components — and run a tech layer over hand-picked Indian factories, from design collaboration to delivery.

Investors bought the thesis early. Lightspeed led a $3.5M seed in April 2023, and 15 months later RTP Global led an $18M Series A, with Lightspeed, Alteria Capital, Stride Ventures and Trifecta Capital participating. At the time Zyod said it was at a double-digit-million-dollar annualised revenue run-rate, aimed to triple revenue in FY25, and was expanding from 18 to more than 40 countries, expecting 80% of business to come from overseas. Customers already included Reliance, Aditya Birla, Rare Rabbit, FirstCry, NEXT and Landmark Group.

The company's pitch is that tech fixes the waste in fast fashion: by predicting supply and production gaps, Zyod lets brands buy smaller batches more efficiently instead of betting on big runs. Its own factories then serve as proof the model works at scale.

By mid-2026 Zyod had opened its third 'excellence hub' in two years: a 100,000+ sq ft Gurugram facility with over 750 machines and annual capacity of more than 60 lakh garments, IoT production tracking, automated shirt manufacturing lines and SEDEX-compliant sustainability systems, aimed at large global retailers and expected to create 2,000+ jobs.

这件事要成立,得有什么

  • Zyod chose the least sexy part of fashion — manufacturing — and turned it into a scalable tech product, avoiding brand-marketing competition.
  • Modular design plus low minimum orders directly attacked the two costs that keep small fashion brands out of production: MOQs and lead time.
  • The company made its own factories the demo, proving the model before asking global retailers to trust a software layer.
  • Data and ERP were positioned as the moat: predicting supply gaps and design trends is what lets brands order smaller batches without missing demand.

可借鉴之处

Zyod attacked fashion's bottleneck instead of adding another brand: by modularising design and cutting minimum orders, it made the supply chain the product — factories followed.

后续进展

As of 1 September 2026, ZYOD is private and expanding: its 7P Gurugram factory — the third hub in two years — came partially online on 15 July 2026 with capacity of over 60 lakh garments a year; it says it operates across more than 40 countries, plans to double its customer base and introduce 100,000 unique designs monthly, and remains company-reporting on revenue (a double-digit-million-dollar run-rate at the time of its Series A).
