What the business is
ZoomInfo sells go-to-market intelligence — data on 100M+ companies and 500M+ contacts — to sales, marketing and customer success teams.
The bet
That coordinated agent teams grounded in ZoomInfo's own data can run complete GTM plays — signal to outreach — reliably, without a person supervising each step.
How it started
ZoomInfo's stack had the data and GTM Studio, but AI help stayed siloed: an assistant in the CRM, enrichment in one tool, sequencing in another, with GTM engineers building demand-gen motions outside where reps actually work. DoubleO.ai, founded by Derek Osgood and Karthik Suresh, had built orchestration for teams of agents instead.
What happened
ZoomInfo announced it had acquired DoubleO.ai a day earlier and shipped Agent Teams on 2026-10-01, available in GTM Studio with no new SKU or contract. Specialized agents — each with its own role, instructions and tools — share context from every prior step and decide the next best action from the current state of the record. CEO Henry Schuck's pitch: revenue doesn't follow a flowchart, so agents have to work from what's actually true about an account right now.
What has to be true
It is an incumbent's new product bet: rather than bolting a copilot onto its data, ZoomInfo bought the orchestration layer and made coordinated agents the product.
The bet is falsifiable and near-term: if agents still hallucinate mid-play or reps keep babysitting steps, the GTM-automation story collapses back into a data subscription.
The claimed differentiator over generic agent frameworks is architectural — agents sharing context and reasoning instead of exchanging outputs at handoffs.
What can be applied
Platform incumbents buying agents don't need to build models — they need an orchestration layer that grounds agents in proprietary signals nobody else has.
Aftermath
As of 2026-10-01 Agent Teams is live in GTM Studio for customers with no new SKU or contract. Pitched plays include tracking champions in real time, finding lookalikes of closed-won opportunities and reaching out to their buying committees, and turning a closed-won deal into a case study plus outreach to ten competitors of that customer. ZoomInfo also positions GTM.AI, its headless GTM context layer, as the API and Model Context Protocol home for agents across Salesforce Agentforce, HubSpot Breeze, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude and ChatGPT.
