The new 'Automata 2.0' stack couples LINQ, a cloud platform for designing and running workflows, with the modular LINQ robotic bench that moves labware between instruments.

Automata's pivot attracted a customer roster including AstraZeneca, UK NHS trusts and the Francis Crick Institute by October 2023, when it raised a $40M round led by Dimension. On January 29, 2026 the company announced a $45M Series C — again led by Dimension, joined by Danaher Ventures, Tru Arrow Partners, Octopus Ventures and Entrepreneurs First — alongside a strategic partnership with Danaher under which Beckman Coulter Life Sciences and Molecular Devices instruments integrate into LINQ, with Danaher Ventures' Murali Venkatesan joining the board.

As of late January 2026 Automata was scaling: it says five top pharma companies are customers, with repeat deployments on some of the industry's largest automation projects, and the new capital will fund larger deployments, global engineering and customer-success growth, and the next version of its closed-loop experimentation software for AI-driven drug discovery. Revenue and profitability are undisclosed.
