Background
Hoomanely is a Palo Alto startup betting that most pet-health signals live in the feeding bowl. The EverBowl station measures dogs' food and water consumption, eating speed, chewing and swallowing sounds, facial thermals and oral motion, and its AI platform builds a per-dog health baseline from that data. Sustained departures from baseline surface in an app and in long-term reports, which the company says gives veterinarians better data when they get involved.
The founding insight is that appetite, hydration and oral comfort are among the first things disrupted by pain, dental disease, tummy issues, endocrine changes and illness — and that dogs are far less able to mask how they eat and drink than they are to mask limping and lethargy.
