Founded in December 2023 by Dodon Yamin (CEO), Anis Nur Aini (Chief Sustainability Officer) and Anthony Kwik (President Commissioner), combining seaweed farming, microfinance and sustainability experience. Indonesia is the world's largest producer of tropical seaweed, with over one million people earning from cultivation, but the industry suffered from low-quality inputs, opaque prices and little technology.

Intudo Ventures led a US$1.25 million seed round announced in January 2025 to build a seedling cultivation laboratory and nursery, expand farming and exporting operations, and scale proprietary seedling production toward becoming Indonesia's largest high-volume seedling producer, targeting Sulawesi first.

Running: after the seed round Banyu was expanding seedling production and farming and export operations, supplying international FMCG and ingredient companies and working toward biofertilizer and bioplastics applications.
